Today we received a call from KOLAVADA village of Gandhinagar, that one adult cow has fallen down in a well.
Every year, Vanshree trust and forest department of Gandhinagar make joint bird rescue mission during Uttarayan. This year, the count of rescued birds was 40 during the two days of Uttarayan.
Several Rock pigeons, Black kite, Yellow footed green pigeon, parakeet, Black Ibis and other critically endangered species were among those injured during two days of the Uttarayan festival.
On out biggest event of bird rescue, we made good just as usual. Congratulations and many thanks to all the volunteers, doctors and who ever called us for bird rescue. Uttrayan 2013 passed with several memories and new hope in environmental activities. We rescued some birds in impossible situations.
With a purpose to rescue and to provide proper treatment to birds who are injured by kite thread.

On the Morning of June 23, Vanshree Head Office got a call from Mr. Alpesh Patel informing that a Blue Bull (Locally known as Nil Gai or Roz) was in the lake and struggling to get out. Knowing seriousness of the event, Mahavir Nimavat an active volunteer of Vanshree trust rushed to the spot with the team of Forest Department officials and Fire Brigade. At the end of 5 hours operation the animal was saved, alive and fit. Vanshree thanks and pays gratitude towards local people who helped us, Mr. Mahesh Modh, Chief Fire officer Gandhinagar, Mr. Faruk Shaikh, Fire man and Forest officials Mr. Thakor and Mr Patel who were great help in this operation.

Being involved in rescue activities, we get very nice and memorable experiences.
Today evening it happened the same with me. Fr. Hector Pinto(Principle st. Xavier’s school) called me and asked me if I can go to out of Gandhinagar for a rescue operation. As it is my passion and life mission, there was no point to deny. He told me that there was a Porcupine, fell in a water tank at ‘Shramjivi Seva School’ near Bileshwarpura, Chhatral GIDC area and gave me phone number of the priest there, Fr. Fernando. I called him and got the exact location of the place and started for the mission along with my father Mr. Chaitanya Nimavat(Hon. Wild-Life warden) and two other volunteers. We also managed for a rope ladder and some 20 meters long rope.
